She has assisted in some capacity with past Island Shakespeare Festival productions, including the design and build of recent productions of Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility and Othello. (she/her; Director: A Midsummer Night's Dream; 3rd season with ISF) is a Professor of Theatre and Head of Performance at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon where she runs the Acting Trainee Program in partnership with Oregon Shakespeare Festival and serves as Associate Artistic Director of Ashland New Plays Festival. She is thrilled to return to ISF, where she directed Taming of the Shrew (2014) and Seagull (2017) and played Queen Gertrude in Hamlet (2017). Jackie has worked as an actor, director, and producer in theatre, film, and media with companies such as the Roundabout, Denver Center, National Geographic, SRT, Elephant, Modern Media (Head of Production), Venice Theatre Works (Associate Artistic Director), and Shakespeare Santa Barbara (Producing Director). She spent more than a decade at Backstage, where she was a Contributing Editor and her book, Answers from the Working Actor, was published by Routledge in 2018. Jackie holds a BFA from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA from the National Theatre Conservatory. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
