Amy Wheeler

is thrilled to be treading the boards as Prospero. Amy is also a playwright whose work is being seen around the country, including a production of her play WIZZER PIZZER: Getting Over the Rainbow in Seattle this summer by ISF partner Theatre22. Amy holds an MFA from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop, and has taught writing at Cornish College for the Arts and Freehold Studio Theatre Lab. Amy’s favorite roles include: Cordelia in KING LEAR, The Chorus in Anouilh’s ANTIGONE, Estelle in NO EXIT and Woman 2 in Samuel Beckett’s PLAY in NY Theatre Company’s production A NIGHT IN HELL, Mrs. May in an adaptation of Flannery O’Connor’s short stories EVERYTHING THAT RISES MUST CONVERGE and a hippy with hair-down-to-there in HAIR. Amy is Executive Director of the literary nonprofit Hedgebrook, and lives on Whidbey in a 100-year-old dance hall with her wife Kate, son Jacob, and furry friends Tilda, Buk and Blue Magic.
