Island Shakespeare Festival



Sean Martin (he/him, Capulet in This of Juliet): Sean is a professional actor and director with almost 20 years of industry experience. He holds graduate degrees in both Acting and Directing from the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, as well as Advanced Level Three Certification in Stage Combat from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. His work has been seen all over the globe where he has worked with companies such as The Royal Court, Talawa Theatre Co., The Old Red Lion Theatre, The Linbury Studio Theatre, and The Drayton Arms (London/UK); De Acteers Studio (The Hague); Bailiwick Rep, T.U.T.A., and Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. (Chicago), Houston Children’s Theatre Festival, Austin Shakespeare Co., Penfold Theatre Co., City Theatre, The Scottish Rite Theatre, and Abilene Shakespeare Festival (Texas); Nashville Rep, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, and Blackbird Theatre Co. (Nashville) Sean is also the co-creator and founder of both Free Trade Productions in London and the Penfold Theatre Co in Austin TX. As an educator, Sean currently serves on the faculty at Belmont University. He has also taught and directed productions for The Poor School (London), Vanderbilt University, Lipscomb University, Trevecca Nazarene University, as well as his alma mater LAMDA. Sean was selected as the 2014 Fred Coe Artist-in-Residence at Vanderbilt University and received numerous commendations for his directing work from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
