Michael J. Bobbitt (he/him) is a director, choreographer, and playwright. He recently joined Mass Cultural Council as Executive Director. Previously, he served as Artistic Director of the New Repertory Theatre after 12 years in that role at Adventure Theatre-MTC. He has taught at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and volunteered on numerous non-profit boards. As director/choreographer, nationally and internationally: Arena Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington National Opera, NY Musical Theatre Festival, Mel Tillis 2001, La Jolla Playhouse, and the Olympics. As a writer: NYC International Fringe Festival and The NY Musical Theatre Festival. He has plays published by Concord Theatricals/Rogers & Hammerstein Theatricals, Broadway Publishing and Plays for Young Audiences. Awards: Excel Leadership Award (Center for Nonprofit Advancement), Emerging Leader Award (County Executive’s Excellence in the Arts and Humanities), and Person of the Year Award (Maryland Theatre Guide).
