Island Shakespeare Festival

Parmida Ziaei (she/her) | Season Movement Choreographer (1st season with ISF) is an Iranian designer, performer and choreographer based in Seattle. Parmida often brings together the intricacy and elegance of her Classical Persian dance background, the freedom of modern and contemporary movement and fierceness of Latin dances to create a unique movement style. In her teaching and choreography work, she is interested in exploring how each person’s body embodies movement to tell a story and express emotions. When not in the movement world, Parmida designs various interior, architectural, immersive and entertainment spaces and has also been a scenic and production designer with many local Seattle theaters including Village Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, ArtsWest, and more. Parmida is the co-founder of Seda Iranian Theatre Ensemble and is the resident set designer with Macha Theatre Works.
